We played at Little Bredy, on a beautiful but uncertain pitch, which was a great leveller. Two 20/20s, but with aggregated scores. We scored only 90, which looked a bit light, and so it proved. No-one took off, though most scored a few. Their bowling was quite tight. They used a couple of the Beaminster players from the day before. In their first innings they scored 108, mainly due to strong hitting from Alistair, who always scores against us. Does not look like a cricketer, but has a good eye and a powerful swing. Dropped catches did not help.
On our second go round we did little better in spite of some hitting from Johnny in particular. 93 was not enough, leaving them only 75 to win. But it proved fairly tight, and the outcome was in question until Alistair came in a second time.
Lovely day. Great setting. Friendly team. WAGs behaved, mainly.
