BCCC v Antelopians 5th June 35 0vers
BCCC - 232
Antelopians - 194 Won by 38 runs
BCCC - 232
Antelopians - 194 Won by 38 runs
5th win of the season on a lovely, balmy Summer's day - 26 degrees !!!
Won the toss for a change and Barnes with a very strong batting side decided to bat first. We also had the 3 Davies boys playing together for their first match of the season attentively watched by Pru. Unusually, our opening pair did not get us off to a good start. Nick, after hitting the first two balls he faced for a six, was LBW in the first over. The remaining top order put on 150 between Sanjay 31 , Archie 40 , Graeme 51 , Phil 33 and a quickfire 12 ball 27 by George. The pitch played a bit on the slow side. Let's hope all that rolling last week finally comes through. BCCC ended up scoring 232 in 35 overs. A very good batting effort!
Antelopians started slowly only scoring 28 in 10 overs. BCCC bowlers led by Graeme and Vish made life difficult for their batters. Only Thommo showed some fight to score a quick 33. We lost Graeme early to injury sobhopefully nothing more serious than a cramp. Hope he recovers soon. Keith took 3 wickets ably supported by Vish, Adi and Nick taking 2 wickets apiece. Antelopians ended up with 194 all out.
Last but not least, congratulations to George on his forthcoming nuptials in Spain. All the best from all at BCCC.
Man of the match - Graeme for his 51 as well as for his first century of 2016 Vs Corvedale on tour in Shropshire.
Catch of the match - Phil diving forward to take a sharp caught behind (and who said he can not move whilst keeping)
