BCCC v BBC Mishits - won by 9 wickets
Thank you again to Claudia and Andrew for overseeing the teas. Much appreciated.
BBC Mishits 145 all out in 34 overs, BCCC 148 for 1 in 19 overs !!! BCCC won by 9 wickets !!
Bit of a whitewash, as BBC turned up with bit of a weak side. BCCC captain as usual lost the toss again and Barnes were put in to field !! We started with pace from Vish at one end and spin from Yogi at the other. Yogi made the first breakthrough out foxing their opener for 8 with an easy catch by Sanjay at mid off. Wickets fell at regular intervals to some very good spells by most of Barnes bowlers and BCCC ended up with 145 in 34 overs all out. Only 3 of their bats got to double figures. Vish bowled with pace and finished with 4-1-11-0. Yogi foxed the opposition with his leg spin 3-1-9-1. Adi was back in top form and bowled as well as I have seen him bowl for some time , 6-125-2 . Welcome comeback for Graeme who swung the ball like a banana and finished with 6-125-1. Anthony reliable as ever 5-2-14-0. Even Mr Pitcher tried his hand at bowling !! Keith stole the show with 3-1-7-3 along with Nik 2-1-1-1.
After being spoiled by Claudia's teas, Barnes started batting. Our openers started well with Nik bashing it all over the park to reach 38 runs before being given out LBW. Yogi took his chances to reach 45 not out and even Sanjay got a few runs and scored 46 not out to surpass BCCC's total of 145 in 19 overs. Apologies to the rest of the batsmen who were none to pleased for not having a chance to have a go at the BBC bowlers !!
Man of the match - Yogi for picking up his 1st man of the match award, 45 not out and 1 wicket , well done.
Catch of the match - personally I enjoyed watching Sanjay leap a few inches in the air and grabbing at the ball at mid off and surprising himself by actually catching it - his 3rd catch of the matching !!
Shot of the match - Nick for his two lovely crisp 6's.
