BCCC v Common Lawyers CC
BCCC 191
Common Lawyers 192-2 Lost by 8 wickets
A weakened Barnes side without Sanjay, Keith, Graeme and Suraj struggled against a much stronger than usual Common Lawyers
side who have gradually morphed over the past few seasons into the Coutts XI with some very useful players. Jonny B got off his sick bed to play and we managed to get a full side out.
Nik and Pete Hope put on 46 for the first wicket with Pete playing sheet anchor and chipping in with ...7.
Nik and Vish got us to within touching distance of 200. Even though this was 40/50 below par it might have been enough with our regular bowling line-up. However, Tom had a back spasm before he could complete his first over and it set the tone for the rest of the innings.
Leon and Nik took a wicket each but we lacked penetration and their opener retired hurt on 104 with all but 17 coming in boundaries.
Man of the Match - Vish for a rapid 66 with 3 sixes and 10 fours
Catch of the match - errr... there wasn't one.
